SISLab - Unibas | Insitu and monitoring test
Il Laboratorio di Materiali e Strutture dell’Università degli studi della Basilicata ha svolto un ruolo sempre più significativo nel panorama nazionale ed internazionale al punto da divenire uno dei soci fondatori della Rete dei Laboratori Universitari di Ingegneria Sismica (ReLUIS), svolgendo la funzione di Centro di Competenza per il Dipartimento della Protezione Civile della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri.

The practical knowledge of the SisLab team in the field of earthquake engineering. The main activities of SisLab are aimed at the understanding of existing structures through the determination of the structural layout achieved by geometric survey, laser scanner sampling and in situ material characterization. Investigation of a structural materials strength can be performed by either destructive testing (removal of material cores for later laboratory test) or non-destructive testing (ultrasonic, sclerometric, pachometric, thermographic, georadar etc.).

SisLab in situ investigations range from the standard static vertical load testing of floors to the testing of base isolated buildings. SisLab is also capable of dynamically identifying structures, following a seismic event, in order to structural monitoring and damage identification and localization.
